Hey Allstar WeekendI need to teach fanfiction writers proper grammar.
Please don’t take this offensively but if your grammar sucks, I cannot read your fanfic. I don’t care how good the story line is, it’s just not possible. I cringe.
When you have someone new speaking in a conversation, that’s a new paragraph. And when they do speak the dialogue on the inside of the quotation marks is like this: “But he said no!” not, “but he said no”. I can’t tell you how much that irritates me.
Is it so hard to capitalize or use commas? when you type this and everything is running on and on it just doesn’t make any sense and its annoying. And fragments, don’t even get me started. In my life. That is not a sentence. Add something to it or maybe attach it to the last sentence with this magical thing called a comma.
Oh for the love of all that is holy do not put winky or smiley faces in your fanfics. Just no.
Also when you have a new paragraph, you don’t have to indent but add a space or two between them so it doesn’t all run together. Please.
A lot of you have great writing skills and plots but your grammar is awful so I can’t read it.
Just please. I only have like not even two fics that I read regularly. I need some. But if your grammar sucks…. I just can’t.
